This nut is rather rare on our plates. A pity, then there are many health benefits of walnuts. The hard shell hides healthy fats, proteins, B-vitamins, lecithin and zinc. This little nut is definitely an all-inclusive package:

Various studies showed that it contained lecithin, along with the valuable omega-3 fatty acid and plant sterols, which helps protect heart and blood vessels. The fatty acids also reduce cholesterol which reduces the heart disease risk.

And the contained neurotransmitter acetylcholine is responsible for the exchanges in the brain.

Beauty-effect
Vitamin E and zinc are beneficial for a healthy immune system because they are indispensable elements for metabolism. And vitamin A is in addition famous for its beauty-effect. The skin remains supple and smooth, and it prevents winkles.

Strong pearly whites
Most of the tooth pastes nowadays contain fluorine which is important for healthy and strong teeth. Walnuts are good sources of this mineral.
Raw walnuts are the healthiest. One handful of walnuts covers already the daily requirements of omega-3 fatty acids. 100 grams of walnuts have a calorific value of 650 kcal and 63 grams of (healthy) fat.
Although there are healthy fats, it is recommended not to eat more than one handful walnuts per day, so it doesn’t become apparent on your scale.
Despite the health benefits of walnuts, infants up to three years should not eat any nuts because of the risk of choking. In addition, walnuts are among the most allergenic foods, so make sure you are not allergic to it.
